Quotas & Overage
Every Unseenr plan includes a monthly event quota. Understanding how quotas work helps you manage costs and avoid unexpected blocks.
How Quotas Work
Your event quota resets on a 30-day billing cycle. The cycle start date is set when you first subscribe (for paid plans) or when your organization is created (for free plans).
What Counts as an Event
- Error events (exceptions)
- Transactions (performance data)
- Log envelopes
What Does NOT Count Against Event Quota
- Session replays (separate replay quota)
- Uptime monitor checks
- Heartbeat pings
Quota Enforcement
Free and Starter Plans
When you exceed your event quota on Free or Starter, new events are hard blocked. The ingest endpoint returns HTTP 429 with { "error": "quota_exceeded" }. No overage billing is available.
Pro, Business, Scale, and Platform Plans
When you exceed your quota on paid plans:
- If overage is enabled (default for Pro+): Events continue to be accepted and billed as overage
- If overage is disabled: Events are hard blocked, same as Free/Starter
Organization owners can toggle overage on/off in the Billing settings.
Overage Rates
| Plan | Rate per 100,000 events |
|---|---|
| Pro | 2.00 EUR |
| Business | 1.50 EUR |
| Scale | 2.50 EUR |
| Platform | 3.00 EUR |
Overage is reported to Stripe daily and billed at the end of your billing cycle.
Quota Warnings
Unseenr warns you before you hit your limit:
- At 75% usage: A
X-Unseenr-Quota-Warning: trueheader is added to ingest responses - At 75% usage: A yellow banner appears in the dashboard
- At 75% usage: A one-time warning email is sent to the organization owner
Replay Quota
Session replays have a separate quota from events:
| Plan | Replays / Month |
|---|---|
| Free | 500 |
| Starter | 5,000 |
| Pro | 50,000 |
| Business | 500,000 |
| Scale | 1,000,000 |
| Platform | 5,000,000 |
When the replay quota is exceeded, new replay recordings are silently dropped (HTTP 200 is returned but the replay is not stored).
Billing Cycle Reset
Quotas reset automatically at 00:05 UTC on the 30th day of your billing cycle. The reset:
- Clears event and replay counters
- Resets the quota warning email flag
- Clears the Redis quota enforcement keys
Monitoring Your Usage
